LA TOUMAZ

The La Tzoumaz area

La Tzoumaz is a peaceful, family village overlooking the Rhone Valley and nestled into the valley adjacent to Verbier. It is one of the true hidden gems of the Swiss Alps offering immediate access to the world famous Verbier ski area but without the queues. The Four Valleys ski area consists of various ski resorts, including Verbier, Nendaz, Bruson, Veysonnaz, and Thyon. According to Patrick Thorne’s report of 2 December, 2016 entitled “Who’s the Daddy? Top 10 biggest ski areas” (please see onthesnow.com) the Four Valleys ranks number 4 in the world boasting some 412km of interconnected runs with 89 lifts, all covered by a single pass. Receiving over 300 days of sunshine a year and yet still enjoying one of the best snow records in the Alps, La Tzoumaz is truly a great winter sport destination and offers something for all levels. Savoleyres is the main ski area in la Tzoumaz and since 2008 has been blessed with a high speed 8 person gondola that takes you to the top of Savoleyres in just 8 minutes.
La Tzoumaz also has the longest Tobbogan run (10km) in Western Switzerland and an open air ice rink located in the village centre.

WINTER

The North facing slopes of Savoleyres have an excellent snow record and the North facing slopes ensure snow cover until the end of April. Even in the worst snow cover years the slopes have seen some of the best conditions in the area with people travelling from other resorts to ski here. It truly is a Winter playground and among the benefits you can enjoy include:

SUMMER

In Summer, the village comes to life again with a wide range of sports and family activities on offer. The choice includes themed walks, endless hiking trails, mountain biking, tennis, swimming, paragliding and much more to enliven your days in the Summer sun. There are also various activities organized by the village enabling you to enjoy the local products, culture and heritage of this alpine region.

The village has several bars, restaurants, ATM, a supermarket with a good bakery, 2 ski hire shops, and two ski schools. There is a also a well organized child care facility welcoming children from 2 to 6 years’ of age.

Further afield on Lake Geneva, you can find all sorts of water sports to keep you entertained from waterskiing, boat rental, pedallos, canoes, etc.
